Jolly Buoy Boat Tour Details:

Jolly Buoy Island follows a seasonal schedule and operates only from 15 November to 15 May each year. Since it is part of a protected marine national park, access is regulated and limited permits are issued daily.

Tour Schedule:

  • Departure Point: Wandoor Jetty
  • Reporting Time: Around 8:00 AM
  • Boat Duration: Approximately 30 minutes one way
  • Return Time: Around 2:00 PM

Important Permit Information

Secure your permits by visiting the Directorate Of Information, Publicity and Tourism Office (IP&T) in Port Blair a day before your tour, ensuring you have a valid photo ID in hand.

For a hassle-free booking experience, consider enlisting the support of a travel agent who can simplify the process, allowing you to enjoy and relax. Forest permits are issued 48 hours before the trip. Travelers must share their Aadhar card at least 2 days prior so the team handling the tour can complete the documentation process.

Where to Report?

Travelers need to go directly to Wandoor Jetty. Report at 07.00 am in the morning.

Your entry ticket and forest permit are handed over at the jetty by the ground team before boarding.

Note: The Jolly Buoy Island is open to visitors only for 6 months in a year for the upkeep of the corals. So, make sure the island is open at the time of your visit. But if it isn’t, then you can consider visiting Red Skin Island, which offers a similar experience.
