Note: All water sports activities and swimming at Elephant Beach, as well as trekking to Elephant Beach at Swaraj Dweep, will be suspended on February 21st (12:00 pm onwards) and 22nd, 2024, due to the upcoming VVIP visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Where is Elephant Beach Located?

This beach is located on Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

How to Reach Elephant Beach?

You can reach the beach by either taking a speed boat from the Havelock ferry ghat or by trekking through the forest.

How to reach by boat?

You will have to board a speed boat from the Havelock Jetty. The boat will cost you ₹ 1000 or more depending on the type of boat you choose.

You can either hire the entire boat or pay the individual price. But if you choose to pay the individual price, then you will have to wait for other passengers and the boat to get filled.

How to reach by road?

Unfortunately, you cannot drive to Elephant Beach. The only way by land is a trek through the forest. The starting point of the trek is very close to the BSNL CLS building.

The trek is around 2 kilometers long and will take you an hour or two, depending on your pace of walking. Wear comfortable shoes and carry an umbrella as it might rain inside the forest. Keep some snacks and drinking water with you. Since the forest is deep, it is also advisable to hire a tour guide.

The beach opens at 08:00 a.m. and closes at 05:00 p.m.

On the beach, you will find many small vendors selling fruits and refreshments. You need not worry about getting hungry.


The beach has many benches installed. You can sit and enjoy the view.

Changing Rooms:

The beach has dedicated changing rooms. These are well-maintained and can be accessed between 08:00 a.m. and 05:00 p.m.


The beach has trained lifeguards to avoid any accidents. The water ride operators follow mandated safety precautions.

Is Elephant Beach worth visiting?

Yes! It is only here that you will find so many water activities. No other place in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands hosts these many activities. You will also get to experience great biodiversity if you choose to trek. This is one of our recommended places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
